"There were two early personal experiences in my life had significant influence on my desire to become a psychiatrist for children and adults. The first was volunteering at Loyola Hospital on the Pediatrics floor, where I learned how giving the right help with the most care at the right time would change lives.
The other experience has been being favored as the aunt my nieces and nephews relate to most easily because I listen without making them feel they are in trouble or being punished. They are able to speak comfortably with me because of my ability to make them feel like they could talk to me about anything."
